Superhuman Mail App
Challenge
The newly formed mobile team at Superhuman Mail tasked us with leading the redesign of their mobile app, incorporating the latest iOS standards and the new brand identity, and maintaining its notorious speed.
Strategy
The redesign centered around these four principles: 1. You can do anything important with one tap. 2. Writing should feel effortless 3. Interactions should feel fast and intuitive. 4. The app should feel beautiful on every device.
A native interface
We redesigned every core part of the app, from the inbox and email view to writing, search, calendar, and Ask AI. The biggest change was adding a bottom navigation bar, so Mail, Calendar, and Search are always one tap away. But what about splits, the feature Superhuman users love most? We kept them at the bottom within thumb reach, so getting to inbox zero stays fast and easy. Calendar got new 2 and 3 day views for planning on the go, and team comments now stand clearly apart from emails in a thread. Writing a new email or a reply feels the same everywhere, with Write with Voice one tap away.
Outcome
The redesigned app launched to all users and has set the foundation for the future of Superhuman Mail's mobile growth as the team continues to make it even faster to get through your inbox on the go.
